Tour Description
This is the short version of the famous and stunning inca trail, for those who have less time available, but doesn't want to miss this special trail. We start our trail at km 104 km walking to the ruins of Wiñahuayna where we spend the night. The next day we leave to Inti Punco early in the morning. This is the passage to Machu Picchu on 2,650 m above sealevel.

Inka Trail
Day 1: Cuzco - Wiñay Huayna - Aguas Calientes
We leave Cuzco by train at 7 AM in the morning. First we go to Ollantaytambo and afterwards we continue to km 104. Here we visit the ruins of Chachabamba at 2,250 m.a.s.l. Here agricultural products were stored for transportation to Machu Picchu. Hereafter we continue our trail to Wiñay Wayna. On the way we enjoy marvellous views over the Urubamba river and we might see different kinds of orchids. After passing the last curves we can see Wiñay Wayna below us. Here we take a break for a guided visit to the ruins and explanation over this fascinating and important Inca site. In the afternoon we walk for several hours to finally arrive to Machu Picchu. At night we overnight in Aguas Calientes, on the foothills of Machu Picchu.

Day 2: Machu Picchu - Cuzco
We leave early in the morning to take a local bus up to Machu Picchu. On arrival we have a guided tour of approximately two hours along the most important places of Machu Picchu. The guide also explains you the importance of Machu Picchu as astronomic and religious center. The rest of the time we spend at these unique ruins. You have the opportunity to climb the mountain of Wayna Picchu which gives you an excellent view of Machu Picchu. You also can visit the temple of the moon. In the afternoon we meet again in Aguas Calientes where we take the train back to Cuzco.
